An Announcement
Well, technically this is part 3 of what came from my recent trip to Moldova. I had a creative lead in, you know, with a captivating title, but things happened, time passed by, and so now, I'm just going with the simple.
This week I have been listening to Passion 2013 online. It is a conference for 18-25 year olds with amazing music and speakers and honestly I know it has had a huge impact on me, and friends of mine.So anyways the first night the scripture that was presented was a scripture that infiltrated my every thought two years ago. I spent my first year of college telling God what I was and was not going to do with my life. I told myself that I could live a worldly life and a "godly" life simultaneously. And well when that bubble of ridiculousness popped, I felt like I was in a valley of darkness. I didn't know what God wanted me to do with my life. I felt that I had wasted my time, God's time, with my hardened heart. That is when God opened my eyes to the scripture of Ezekiel 36:25&27:
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
This is the scripture that got me through. Got me to the point where I fully embraced God's forgiveness. The following verses lead into the famous lines found in the valley of dry bones. You know, Ezekiel looks out and sees all the dry bones, and God shows how big and powerful he is, by turning those dry bones into flesh. That was the real point of the speaker in the first session of Passion. The fact that God is just amazing. Only He knows the plans, the future. God is so great!!!
All that to say, this year, God has given me a new mantra. BELIEVE. Believe that he is big. Believe he is my provider. Believe that he is all knowing, all seeing. Just Believe. So wherever you are-- if you are in a dark valley, feeling that you've wasted time, or you are trying to lead a double life know that God sees you. You can't fool him. A double life is not pleasing to God. Pop the bubble...It is scary to let go, but once you embrace forgiveness and replace your hardened heart for the one God has for you, your life will be filled with peace. You may think that if you do let God in, you will end up half across the world in a third world country, and that scares you... but trust me, you may think that pot holes that look like swimming pools, squatty potties with brown sand paper for toilet paper, strange foods like congealed chicken, and mosquitos that could eat small children are terrifying, but a life without the holy spirit guiding me is way scarier. So get up from your valley, cry out to God, and live your life fully for Christ, with no hesitation, no double life.
Okay you must be thinking, "What's this announcement, Chelsey?"
Here it is... After visiting Moldova, I've felt that spending some more time there seems like the next step for me. Just short term, because for reasons only God himself understands, L'viv is a big piece of my heart, and will always be. But I do have an opportunity to serve at Freedom Home, a home for women and children recovering from the emotional and physical damage of human trafficking.
So there is the announcement, for two months I will be interning for Project Rescue in Moldova. Which means that I have till this May to raise the funds to be able to get there.
A mustard seed of faith.
Moving mountains.
Dry bones coming alive.
I want the opportunity to expand my knowledge when it comes to ministering to people, with traumatic past. I want to serve God with every fiber of being. I fail often, because I am human. But God cleanses me. He forgives me. And I want to follow his decrees. His decree over my life is to go and serve as He leads.
So I know 2013 will be a big year. And I hope that through all this, you will find it in you to be lead by the spirit in you own lives. And of course I will need you, I will need more prayers then ever before. And of course the money to make it all happen. So please pray for me, for the ministry God has prepared for me.
I know that if you are reading this you are invested in my life, so thank you for that. If you have questions about anything feel free to email me-- if you have questions about how you can donate, feel free to contact me about that too.
2013 is a year to believe in the mightiness of our creator, just Believe!
