Jungle Gym for God

Staring at a blank page- thoughts passing across my brain- and yet, the cursor just blinks. Over and over it blinks, and thoughts again race through my mind. How can I even begin to convey to you? How can I put to words the emotions and experiences I've gone through these past few months? I don't think I can eloquently or even sufficiently begin to describe all that has taken place, but there is one thing I hope I can convey- that is my gratefulness for your prayers, support and partnership. Without you, all of these experiences would not have taken place, and I can't imagine what my life would be like, had that not happened, so thank you for being a cornerstone in my life and ministry.

I think I may in the future write a post more in depth about my journeys in Moldova, but for now, I think I will just reflect on the highlights.

Being a part of Project Rescue's Internship: There is a reason God puts people in your life,
and it is a blessing when those people encourage you and have a part in shaping your life.
The AG missionaries, the interns, and the time at Freedom Home Moldova truly have altered my life and I am forever grateful for this experience.
Part of my adventures being here was hurting my knee-- thought I did some real damage to it, just turns out that I stressed my already feeble knees. It did make moving difficult, and I felt I missed out on a lot. But then God showed me, there was a purpose in it. Even speaking to this women about my knees, and the power of God but more importantly I got to talk to her about the love of God for his children. God is powerful, and a God who heals, but if my knee wasn't hurt I would not have gotten to experience the love of the women, kids, staff and interns for me and my well being. There is nothing more powerful and moving then hearing a four year old child pray for you and ask you how you are doing afterwards. Faith moves mountains and the prayer of children are a useful tool for the kingdom glory. To all of you who prayed for me and loved on me during that time, thank you. And I know that when I heard my knee pop and tear, that your prayers healed and protected me from what could have been a painful disaster, so thank you. And thanks to God who hears our prayers, and also uses painful experiences to draw us closer to him and to others. Everything has a reason.
Getting to see a lot of Moldova- visiting places and seeing God's handy work-
ahh, it is just so beautiful. Meeting people, and seeing different ministries that are taking place across Moldova is really inspiring. The harvest is ripe, and the workers are few, but those who are working are doing their best to make an impact for Christ.

Sunflowers- Love them. And seeing fields and fields of this giant yellow flowers is
enough to make you want to dance:)

Villages- dirt roads, donkeys, horse drawn carriages, outhouses, wells...
I love it. Maybe not so much the outhouses or lack of running water and electricity, but
there is beauty in the simplicity of life. It was great to be in this village in particular, because one of the women who works at FH is from here- so she gave us a grand tour, that involved me having a chat about God with a peach orchard owner, and discussing economics and politics. God.money and politics, think those are topics you are suppose to steer clear from when talking to strangers, but the conversation was good- and I pray that the people I have met along the way will be blessed- that they will open their hearts to God's love, so the void they feel will no longer be empty but full of love. And I pray that God will bless Moldova, and help the economy to be sufficient for it's people.

Cooking: I've done some cooking while being here. First just for us interns, then I got to prepare a meal for FH. I've discovered that I do enjoy taking care of people, and being able to cook for them. I don't think I would really admit that too loud to anyone, but-- ;) So in this particular picture, I made french bread pizzas. People looked at me like I was crazy, but in the end, everyone enjoyed it. And if you have to feed close to 30 mouths, this is a good meal to do:)
Being that I am only allowed in Moldova 90 days, and I have to be out of Ukraine 90 days, I had to take a trip to Iasi Romania for a day. I only got 24 hours in this beautiful city, but it was incredible. A one day vacation can go a long ways! I got to eat Chinese food- ah beautiful honey chicken:) Really did have a good trip, and it is a place I look forward to visiting again.

The kids at FH-- their little smiles and laughs just melt me. The love I feel for them and for their moms is great. They are my family, and will forever be a part of my heart.

IF you can be a human jungle gym then you can work with kids. Work your biceps and entertain kids- can't beat that:)

Babies: The point of Freedom Home is to change womens lives, but even more so, change their lives so that their children have a hope for the future. Children are the future, and we all have to do our part in helping them along the way. I don't know what kind of future these little babies will have, but prayer does change things. I pray for their future, that they will not experience the same pain their mother had to experience. I pray for their mom, that her heart would change, and that she would allow the healer of all healers to heal her heart. But this is what it is all about- some moments are painful, when you can't just whisk a child away from the inevitable pains of this world- but if we all do our parts in sharing Christ love to the world, then we can make a difference, not only in this child'ss life and her twin sisters life, but we can make a difference in the lives of many.

Drinking tea. Playing games. Singing "little bunny foo foo". Getting puked on, peed on, cried on-- having painful talks about life, the struggles there of... Serving along side, loving-- seeing victories and seeing set backs... joys on faces, those light bulb moments-- Ministry is a way of life. It is not glamorous but it is making a difference. One life at a time, one relationship at a time. We all have a part and spot for serving God- and we all have some skill that God can use to share love to a hurting world. If it is being a jungle gym, then do it for God's glory. If it is singing the same song, over and over, then do it for God's glory. If it is drinking tea, then to do it for God's glory. Just do something to be a part of the greater scheme of things. We aren't guaranteed tomorrow, so lets live today in a way that will bring people into a relationship with Christ. Live a life filled with love, compassion, humility and a heart to serve- however you can, where ever you can.

Do it for the Glory of God.
