Moldova:I'm standing right here, hello!
When pondering on the happenings of this past few weeks, I've been in awe of who God is and what he has done in my life, and in the lives of those around me. Before coming to Moldova, I was so stressed out. The unknowns at the time ( document saga) leading up to the trip, weighed heavy on my mind and heart. Questions like, " God what are you doing?" " God why are you not hearing my prayers?" "God are you listening, are you seeing this injustice?" .... In my pity party moment God spoke to me through scripture...
*The Eternal your God is standing right here among you, and He is the champion who will rescue you. He will joyfully celebrate over you; He will rest in His love for you; He will joyfully sing because of you like a new husband. Zephaniah 3:17
From that point of feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't stay in Ukraine, God spoke to me and said,
"Am I not your God, standing right here among you? Will I not be your champion and rescue you in your need? Will I not joyfully celebrate over you, letting you rest in my love for you? Will I not sing because of you, Chelsey, like a new husband?"
My pity party stopped and I began letting go of what I felt God should do, and decided to let God do as he willed for my life, even if that meant letting go of Ukraine for three months, and embracing Moldova instead.
I'm so glad I let go, ( As I always am when I am in situations like this) and that Moldova was willing to embrace me back!...
Through this past month of interning, God has used this scripture over and over to show me areas in my life that have been holding me back, changing my mind and heart, growing me closer to Him. As it often seems, when you think you are going to do good and serve others, God actually does more work within you, than you feel you've done for others.
This internship has been filled with testimonies. Testimonies of how great God is, and how God can transform lives, He can bring healing and hope to the darkest situations. God is so mighty and big that we can't even begin comprehend how vast his love is for us.
Each of us interns have unique stories of how God brought us to Moldova. And our experiences have been just as unique. The things that God has brought to my heart, I did not expect. But I can boldly claim that God loves me, and that God seriously loves you. He see's the big picture. He knows what lessons we need to learn, and the places we need to go to learn them. And his purpose for our lives are as unique as each one of us are. You are special and have talents and gifts that others do not. And even if you just sit on a couch drinking hot tea, using gestures to communicate because you don't speak the language- God will use that, just sitting, to communicate his love for others. Lives will be changed because love speaks, even if our mouths do not move.
If you are young or well seasoned, God can use you around the world to show love. Sitting, talking, serving, playing- missions has its many forms and shapes, but as long as you are willing to let go, and let God be the champion in your life, great things will happen through you, in you and around you.
Above all else, love God, love people.
LGLP and let go.
This month of being a Project Rescue Intern has been a challenge and a blessing. But God has used this time for His glory- and as I enter the remaining time of being a "refugee" in Moldova, and continue to serve at Freedom Home, I know God is going to do great things because he has a big plan and a specific purpose for my being here through the rest of summer. I'm excited to see what else this summer holds for me. Continue to pray for me, that God will keep guiding me, and that this time will be blessed. Also pray that my finances will be blessed so that stress will not be there.
Thanks so much for keeping up with me, look forward to posting more soon!
Chelsey
PS. Praise God, my knee is so much better. I had so physical therapy that did wonders for me, along with all the prayers. I did a lot of moving around today and had very minimum pain so I'm glad that it is better!
