Emergency Situations

Sometimes, I am not sure how my life can become so crazy, so quickly. One minute I'm doing ministry, and the next, I am trying to buy a plane ticket to get out of the country...

My family is still trying to find a house/pet sitter and making arrangements before they officially buy their tickets out, but most likely by the 31st of May they will return to NC.

I have decided to not join them on the trip back to the states, instead I will go to do my internship with Project Rescue in Moldova, and they graciously invited me to stay throughout the rest of the time I have to be out of Ukraine. For me it is better to do ministry where my heart is-- so sorry if you thought you'd get to see me back in NC too:) I plan to leave here next week!

People have emailed, called, and FB asking about the needs we have... Mainly financial and logistical are all of our biggest needs...

-Pray my parents can find someone to care for the dogs and their apartment
-Pray that I can afford to cover my rent in L'viv-- or find someone to sublet
- And pray mostly that at the end of the 90 days, we will be able to return to our ministry in Ukraine, get our visas, and be registered:)

If you would like to know the amounts we are trying to raise here they are:
 For my family the cost of flying will be:  $3600 plus their rent and money for caring for the dog for three months, as well as money to live on while in NC. For more information you can email/FB them.

*For myself: I'm still in need of funds to cover the intership cost and then more for the month of July. A plane ticket there and back, and my rent in L'viv have to be covered as well. Total est. cost will be: $3,000
Please reach out, talk with your churches and small groups-- every little bit helps! Having to leave so quickly is stressful, but knowing that we have a support system and community like you, really does help us to get through! Thank you all for your prayers and concerns for us, and just pray that this will be a time of rejuvenation and peace and that we can make the most of it for God's glory!

Serenity

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.  Today has been a bit of a struggle for me. I've been asking God why, which is never an encouraging way to spend the day. It all started with a little boy at the social orphanage. Last week, he was a little wild, so I just scooped him up, and held him in my lap, while Ed told the Bible Story. As we sat, this little boy just melted into my arms, sat quietly, and listened. So this week, as soon as I sat down in the classroom, he was climbing into my lap, and started to just talk to me.  He told me how everyone had gotten picked up this weekend and got to go home for the holiday Ukraine just celebrated. RIP

I  want to take the time to let you know how great Dr. K was. He has been a ministry partner with Hands on Missions for a really long time. His free medical clinic offered aid to thousand. He would make house calls (even to the missionaries in town) and give free medicine. Often he would visit our elderly neighbors, patiently listen to their every whim, as though he had all his day to offer sympathy. I left Ukraine for a couple years, and when I returned, I ran into Dr. K on the street. He genuinely took interest in how I was doing asking questions and encouraging me. Couple months ago my arm went numb and I was freaking out a little bit so I went to Dr. K for help. I was in pain and worried, and he looked at me and said, its okay, don't worry. And after a chiropractic session, I could feel my hand again.
