1st Update from Moldova- I woke up next to a Scot!

Hello all,

I do not have my own laptop, so please forgive the lack of updates! But I wanted to quickly share with everyone that I am happily and safely in Moldova!

God has shown himself so much already, and I can't wait for what else he has in stored for me. Leaving L'viv I was so stressed because I did not know what to expect with the whole "being illegal" thing. So I get to the airport with my loved ones, and my dad went to the information's desk to see if we could find out the process before I was on my own. The desk got a customs officer to come down and we told him are long story of why I was late... He must have know Jesus because he assured me that it would not be a big deal. After he left, I went up to go through to boarder control, and I go up to an officer and he was thinking about giving me a hard time ( he really did not want to do the paperwork to make a legit fine). I was worried. But then the officer who had come downstairs to talk with me came by and yelled at him, telling him he needed to do the paperwork quickly so I wouldn't miss my flight--- all that to say, I paid the minimum fine because I spoke Ukrainian so they didn't have to get a translator (saved them the hassle) and because this miracle guy "encouraged" them to be quick about getting all the documents processed:) Praise God for answered prayers! ( And language skills when you need them most!)

Arriving in Moldova was great! I love that I had visited in December last year, so seeing familiar faces makes me happy. I went to Freedom Home and the relationships I had started then, were waiting ready to be continued. I'm just excited for the change in ministry and excited to see what God has in store for me and for the other interns.

Speaking of interns-- I was the first to arrive, but my second night, one of the other girls was arriving on the midnight flight from Scotland. SO...I went to bed, and woke up with her next to me:) She has an awesome accent and I'm very much looking forward to working with her through the summer because she too will be staying in Moldova through July ( yay for not being alone!)

I haven't heard from my family yet, so I am hoping they are safe and happy in NC-- if you see them tell them I said hi:)

I miss all my Ukrainian friends! Love you all!

So this is my update for now-- I hope to be able to post more (and maybe even a better formulated blog post?)... but for now this is all I have to offer! Please pray for me, for the other interns, for the missionary family, and most of all for the those who are at the home!

Feel free to email or FB me...

Blessings,

Chelsey

Brothers and sisters, God has called you to freedom! Hear the call, and do not spoil this gift by using your liberty to engage in what your flesh desires; instead, use it to serve each other as Jesus taught through love. Galatians 5:13 VOICE
