Ukraine free for 21 years
My random thoughts about Ukraine today:

Dear Readers,
It's Independence Day here in Ukraine. It has been 21 years since Ukraine was established as an independent nation, stepping toward a democratic government and taking a step away from the communist ways of the Soviet Union. Ukraine has a full history, filled with wars, famines, and dictators, but today is a reminder that their is hope in freedom. 21 years is not a lot of time to experience freedom, and Ukraine's government is far from where it should be as far as democracy goes, but people now have the right to vote, to voice their thoughts and opinions and take part in politics. Corruption still weaves its way through every level of society, from the president down to the hospitals and schools. It is an accepted norm in society to pay bribes to get what you need from professionals. Yes, Ukraine is now a free country, taking steps forward, but problems and work still remain for this country to grow. Spiritually, oppression and depression still keep people captive, preventing full freedom in Christ. So please, take a moment to pray for Ukraine. Thank God that Ukraine is taking steps forward as a country, and that they have celebrated 21 years as an independent country. Pray though that God's light will continue to shine brighter and brighter so that people can have full freedom in Christ. That more people will get on fire to share the gospel, for more people to step up and be godly leaders, that more Christians will get involved in politics to help their country move forward toward God, and pray for the the missionaries who are working in Ukraine, that God would protect us, guide us, and keep Satan out of our business. I am so glad that Ukraine found freedom as a country, giving me the opportunity I have now to live here, and my sincere desire is that Ukraine will continue to remain free, and also find freedom in Christ as a nation.
Praise God for this country and praise God for you!
Happy Independence Day Everyone,
Chelsey
