I bet you clicked to view this post, hoping that I was a secret millionaire, ready to give out freebies, Oprah style. Well I am sorry to inform that I am still a broke (let me emphasize, BROKE) missionary. But there is this show that I've been watching called "Secret Millionaire." It is a show about these millionaires who go into a community with only the average amount of money that someone on food stamps would receive. Normally it runs about 30-40$ for the week. They stay in low income housing, and drive very simple, old cars. Their week journey is all about experiencing life in a new light, as well as searching for worthy causes that are making an effort to impact and change lives in that community. For most of the participating millionaires, they open their eyes to this new world of simple living, but they are exposed to the good that people do, in spite of their circumstances. At the end of the show, the millionaires make large donations, that have huge impacts on the ministries they got to know, as well as the community. What amazes me about the show is how removed people can get when they have money. One girl on the show was sent two blocks from her multi-million dollar home, to the inner city. Two blocks. Two blocks separated her from the harsh reality of homelessness, hunger and poverty. By the end, she realized that she had spent her life working up the ladder, gaining riches, but missing out on being a part of humanity. Some of the people on the show were Christians, some weren't, but at the end they all said the same thing... It is not hard to give. It is not hard to volunteer your time to help those in need, and it is not hard to give some of what God has blessed you with, to bless someone else. There really is power in giving, for Christians and non Christians alike. I believe that God designed us to be givers. To be cheerful givers. Why? Because God himself is a cheerful giver. He gave his only son for our sins. And often we forget that God does not owe us anything, yet he freely gives us his grace, love and forgiveness. Money will make you happy, it can buy you happiness. The thing is, holding on to money, won't fulfill you, it only leaves you wanting more. So, even if you are not a millionaire, maybe your like me, struggling to make ends meet, there is still great reward for those who give. And if you are looking for a show to inspire you, look up the "Secret Millionaire."

Today was the last day of what I have been calling " RadFun." It amazes me how much the group has grown over the summer, and how much we were able to share the gospel with these kids and their parents. Despite several encounters with people walking by us, calling us Jehovah witness, God brought the neighborhood together, and the gospel was shared. Today's activity was making witness bracelets. Walking through each color, that represents how we can come to know God, why we need forgiveness, and how we can have eternal life. Hearing the kids repeat back what each color meant, just reaffirmed that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those with child like faith. I believe that seeds were planted, and after seven years of my family being in this neighborhood, this was the first time that the plan of salvation was safely shared and heard on the street corner. Please pray for this neighborhood, that these little ones will grow up to live their lives out for Christ and make a difference in their community, city and country!
Thank you for your prayers this summer. God has blessed Radical Feet, that is for sure. Thank you for your prayers and financially gifts, as well as craft supplies, that helped make it all possible!
That is all for this week. Thanks for reading this blog and keeping up with me. And don't forget to share Radical Feet with your friends, small groups and churches. Any amount given at any time is a huge help, and I can't do work here without you. So spread the word, give when you can, and pray for me lots!
