For this light momentary affliction

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Cor.4:16-18

Lately, I've just been feeling blah. And then something happened and this week, I feel back to me again. Have you ever had those moments. Where you need a day to be anti social or indulge in a good movie, eat a chocolate bar and pretend the world has stop spinning for a minute. Sometimes those moments last a week, and for some people it can last longer. I guess my case of the "blahs" was a couple weeks, but I am happy to be coming out of it. And one of the things that has renewed my spirit is the verse mentioned above. "...For this light momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison..." God see's us. HE knows us! And he knows that there are times when we have the case of the "blahs" but he is so kind to remind us that it's temporary. Why? Because heaven awaits those who believe. If you have the case of the "blahs" that have been going on for what might seem like forever, don't loose heart. Because though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day... Look to God's word to fulfill you and allow God to renew you. I'm really impacted by these verses lately, I just keep reading them out loud over and over, and I fill renewed. God is amazing, and I am so thankful for his love that he lavishes on me.

This week has been filled with that love. I am so grateful for friends and supporters who care about me. I know that It's prime vacation time now, and everyone has worked hard to earn their pennies to live summer to the fullest. So when I get donations, that keep me from sinking, I am even more grateful for the heart behind the gift. A lot of the times ( well more than I let people in on) being a missionary leaves you feeling vulnerable and forgotten. You give up a lot to do mission work. Comforts of your native land, comforts of air conditioning, running water, and careers with a steady paycheck. Of course being where God has called you is way more rewarding than I ever thought being a poor missionary could be, still sometimes you struggle with the "blahs" ... SO whenever you send a donation, it does more than pay the bills and keep me from being hungry and homeless, you also encourage me and renew me. When you send me messages, or like Radical Feet's FB page, you encourage me. When you send craft supplies and care packages, its more than stuff, it is God working through you to bless me and the people I work with.

I feel confident in saying this, on behalf of all self supported missionaries and missions organizations out there, thank you for giving unto the Lord to further his kingdom, to bless the people behind the mission work... it is a part of the day to day renewal that only comes from the body of Christ working together keeping our eyes on the prize...looking at the unseen eternal things. So thank you for your donations, encouragement, and prayers! And thank you for being apart of God's plan of day to day renewal for me.

“You are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you." Neh. 9:6
