A trip to Jacksonville

Image
The View from our Balcony!  Visited Dr.Coker (the family friends son) at Jacksonville University, got the grand tour and just had a good day there! A very cool storm that came from the city too the ocean. You can see it progress. It was just really neat to watch, and it showed just how cool God is because the design of these clouds were just neat.   Just looked like a big blanket, moving toward the ocean Love the way God designed clouds, these were pretty and just neat to watch! Went to the beach with Chris and William one day This week I also got to spend time with the Coker family. Got to meet long time friend of the family, family's family ( if that makes sense?) Chris was the smallest of the bunch followed by William and his sister Caroline. Also got to meet new friends from overseas who are here for the summer receiving medical treatment. Really touched my  heart to see kids lives being bettered by Solace, an organization that brings kids to t...

50 bonus points

So I have a child that I am teaching to swim, and he is so hyper. But I identify with him, because when I was his age, I was too.During the lesson, we struggle with the normal things, like waiting patiently till your turn, not splashing, not sticking your face in the water, not falling into the water, not running away from the lesson and so forth. And of course when its his turn to do the activity getting him to not tell me, "I don't need you" but showing him he really does need me since he sinks without me..  But tonight, their was victory because as soon as I put my "super" goggles on the kids face, he put his face in the water and swam. It was a big victory, because the kid also sat on the side tonight, and waited his turn... O the magic my Super Goggles have;) Plus the child's parents told me I get bonus points for using the goggles to get their child to swim! But It was a good reminder to me... Sometimes we tell God, "O I don't need you" b...

And some new pictures too

Thanks to Andy Lineberger for some new pics of me... These were taken in downtown Shelby   These were just a few-- more may be yet to come:)

Official!

So it is official, I got my first donation! Which I might add, is very encouraging! Some people have asked-- so when do you need money? Well, in theory, now would be great for people to go ahead and make monthly commitments, or their one time gift-- I will soon begin packing, and shipping some things over to Ukraine, and that of course will cost money, as well as buying a plane ticket. And the closer it gets to time for me to go (which hopefully will be in September) I will need to know about monthly supporters! Fundraising is not a peaceful process-- You stress about how other people are doing financially, and the economy, you stress about if people will even have any interest in some Missionary who wants to help people in another country... all that stress can cause lots of worrying and doubt. But this week, God has reminded me that He is in control, and everything will be in His timing. So if you are thinking about supporting me in my calling, just know that God is faithful and wil...

Human Trafficking

Image
.  Human Trafficking is a global issue, that affects not only countries over there (wherever there may be) but where you are too. Take the time to be aware of the issues, and never be afraid to take up a cause. You are never too old or too young... too rich, too poor or too busy to make a difference. You may ask, "what can I do?" Well the first step to stopping this global issue, is to care. I am moving overseas, to Ukraine, the leading European Country in human trafficking to try and make a difference. Having compassion for a hurting world, is a good place to start. But taking actions in love, to point people to the ultimate love is also important. Teaching people to have hope in Christ, instead of placing their hope in a stranger who promises a better life; who in reality, gives abuse and pains that are unimaginable. There is a hurting world, and as Christians we are called to share the light in this dark place. And to love in such a way, to care in such a way, that peopl...

It's a New Day

It is so easy to just get stressed out. Sometimes I feel like I am stressed when I have no reason to be. In my heart I know that God is in control. If  He can create the world, part seas, make food fall from heaven and so much more, then of course He is going to care for me, and lead me. But my mind, sometimes wants to reason things out. Like, well if I do this, maybe God will do that. Or if I stress about this, God will see how much I care. I laugh with myself sometimes because I want to have faith like Hebrews 11, but then I think, well, all of the people in the Faith chapter had their doubts and own issues to struggle with...  God is bigger then you or I could ever imagine. He understands how we think, who we are, what are wants and needs are... And when we doubt, we are allowing Satan the power in our lives. We allow Him to use our insecurities, our desire for things to prevent us from seeing the hand of God in our lives. I have to keep reminding myself through this whole ...

The Big Question

Many people have asked me, " So when are you leaving?" and in response to that question, I do not have an exact date. I am hoping to move back to L'viv by September, but the date to leave is really up to you. I can not move until I have the means to get there and live there. I am still looking for people to commit to give monthly as well as giving one time gifts. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me, and if you have not received a brochure and would like too, I'd be glad to send you all the information you may need!
